The Journey
How I Got Here
2006: Starting Out
At 17, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. But when a local repair shop in Prague needed an apprentice, I took the chance. Started sweeping floors and learning basic engine maintenance. That first year was rough — lots of grease, plenty of mistakes, but something just clicked.
2008: The Technical School
While working full-time, I enrolled at the Technical School of Transport in Prague. Spent my evenings studying diesel engine systems, electrical troubleshooting, and hydraulic brake theory. The classroom knowledge combined with hands-on work — that's when things really made sense.
2010: ASE Certification
Earned my ASE certification in engine performance and brake systems. It wasn't just a credential — it meant I could diagnose problems systematically instead of guessing. By then, I'd worked on hundreds of vehicles and realized I actually enjoyed solving the mechanical puzzles.
2015: Advanced Diagnostics
Completed advanced diagnostics training at the Bosch Service Center in Prague. This is when brake system work became my focus. Realized that margins for error don't exist with brakes — everything has to be precise. That responsibility drives how I approach every job.
2022: Technical Writing
Joined finovo to create technical content. After 16 years turning wrenches, I wanted to help vehicle owners understand why maintenance matters. Not just what to do, but the why behind it. That's when people actually take care of their cars.

How I Work
Systematic, Not Rushed
Every vehicle tells a story through its symptoms. I approach problems like diagnostic puzzles — reading codes, listening to sounds, checking history. Rush the diagnosis, you'll fix the wrong thing.
Informed Customers Make Better Decisions
Most people don't understand their cars. They're told things need fixing but don't know why. I believe that changes when people understand the why. That's what my writing focuses on.
Safety Comes First
Brake systems, steering, suspension — these aren't areas where you negotiate. A small mistake here affects someone's life. That responsibility shapes every decision I make.
Mentoring the Next Generation
The trade needs good technicians. I'm committed to helping younger mechanics develop the same systematic approach that's defined my career.
